As this was a small cigar, it really had no issues starting up. The first few puffs yielded plenty of dense, white smoke. The aroma is unique, likely imparted by the reddish wrapper that adorns this cigar. I am immediately picking up notes of cinnamon and clove, with an initial sweetness to each puff. The sweetness rapidly towards spicy with each exhale, creating a nice balance. There were a few issues with the burn, once I though I had it well established, but all that required was a few...
This is not a real torpedo as advertised. I call it a "Conicolito" (little cone) , because that's what it looks like. The cigar is straight-gauge all the way to the last 3/4", then goes to a point at nearly a 45 degree angle. It looks awkward. So I chop it, and begin to light it. Oh no, not another tight stick. Sure enough, it was nearly plugged. I light it, and it's only average....
The thing I love about these cigars is the wonderful construction - they never let you down and are just consistently good. Also for a medium to full-bodied cigar, they aren't too strong - you are not overwhelmed by it. The draw is pretty good as well....
