The large-gauge cigar took the flame with ease, and in no time clouds of thick white-gray smoke filled the air. The pre-light flavors of leather and roasted nuts really make a prominent appearance, and the spice that lurked in the background starts to come forth a little stronger. So far, the burn is good, and the two wrappers are not fighting to keep up with one another....
Alright, so I have been on a small cigar kick, and enjoying a few more flavored offerings than usual. However, I do think that CAO really has a good grasp of what a flavored smoke should be. Toasting and lighting were easy and produced volumes of smoke....
The initial light on the Gol! is heavy coffee, dark chocolate, and leather. The coffee notes are dark - almost Kona-like which almost drown-out the leathery notes I thought I would taste more of. You can taste a hint of the sweet maduro wrapper as well. There was absolutely no bitterness to the beginning of this cigar. This cigar gets right to business. ...
