How are the cigars rated? Date added: 2009-08-04
We encourage our users to rate cigars based on the standard 100 point rating system. Our rating system consists of several parts including the Look and Feel of the cigar, Flavor and Aroma, Burn consistency, and Bonus Points. The sections are weighted in order of most importance. Look and Feel of the cigar is weighted a maximum of 20 points. Flavor and Aroma is weighted a maximum of 40 points. Burn consistency is weighted at a maximum of 30 points. Bonus points are a maximum of 10 points and are for anything extraordinary about the cigar or for your overall view of the cigar.
If you're not quite sure how you should do your cigar review based on these criteria please check out one of our featured reviews. These are reviews done by very experienced cigar smokers and should give you a nice outline on how to make your cigar reviews as extensive and valuable as possible.
Can I trust the cigar ratings? Date added: 2009-08-04
Though the cigar ratings are open to anyone that wants to participate, we also have featured cigar ratings by people in the industry that are professional cigar smokers. These are going to be reviews that are specific and reliable. Cigar smoking and tastes differ with every smoker. We encourage you to try new cigars based on the reviews you see here, but we can't possibly guarantee that you are going to like the cigars that are rated well or that you will dislike the cigars that are not rated well. Each cigar smoker is different. This site is meant to be a guide.
