Initial Light

The thing I love about these cigars is the wonderful construction - they never let you down and are just consistently good. Also for a medium to full-bodied cigar, they aren't too strong - you are not overwhelmed by it. The draw is pretty good as well.

First 1/3:

As soon as you start into it you get that great leathery taste, those nice hits of pepper with it, but its also got the sweetness to it as well - it is such a great combination of flavors. It has a firm solid light gray ash and a nice clean slow burn.

Second 1/3:

As you get into the second third of the cigar it gradually starts to build from the medium. The flavor is still pretty consistent - you still have those almost earthy type, sort of semi-sweet chocolate flavors interspersed with the pepper.

Final 1/3:

The flavor builds more in the final third of the cigar. The burn is even and slow - pretty consistent throughout the whole cigar really - just shows how well it is constructed. The flavors are also pretty consistent throughout. It is a solid cigar - great rich taste - not much variation but you know what you are getting and they are pretty consistent whenever I smoke one. Overall, not as good or complex as some I've had, but I have never been disappointed with a Patagas Black either - I'd certainly buy another box of them.
