PuffingBilly purchased this cigar on 2009-01-01.
On initial lighting it produced lots of smoke - nicely flavorful - woody with a hint of mild spice. I was particularly interested in trying this cigar because of its puro status. Not only were all the tobaccos corojo, but they all came from the renown Jamastran Valley in Honduras. So I was expecting good things of this cigar before I started.
Nice medium bodied smoke and the finish was smooth on the palate. The initial woodiness began to mellow out a bit fairly early on and became more leathery in flavor. The finish was still thick but smooth and started getting a touch creamier. The body started to build as well.
I got to the second third after about 25 minutes or so. The burn was nicely even, though the ash tended to drop rather easily and quickly. By this stage the mild spice was picking up and the body moved into the med-full range. The draw remained very good throughout.
The last third of the cigar remained fairly consistent with the second. I smoked the cigar right down to the nub and it never became harsh, and the flavor remained clean as it ever was. I was not disappointed at all - it was a great puro and I would happily smoke more of them. It is certainly a full bodied cigar and there is quite a kick to the spice at the end - if this is what you like then they are well worth a try.
